Inside a never-ending hole of realization called existence

Quote reblogged from you gon' eat yo cornbread...?...LIFE

Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions.

What grades determine:

butitmight:

  • Your ability to memorize mostly useless things
  • Your ability to regurgitate information in the way others want you to
  • Your ability to understand what adults want from you and give it to them
  • Your tolerance for working on tasks you don’t find useful because others want you to do them or believe them to be helpful/socially acceptable

What grades do NOT determine:

  • Your intelligence
  • Your creativity
  • Your emotional capabilities
  • Your likeliness to succeed
  • Whether you’re a good person

“The magazine wanted to photograph im at his high school in Brooklyn. It was my idea to shoot him in the principal’s office, and it was my idea to bring in-I think she was an assistant principal-to be an authoritative figure in the photo. No matter if I’m shooting a celebrity or not, I look at environments first and how I can compose [them], and then I put people in the filmstrip or composition. That’s how I usually go about things, and it really doesn’t change so much if I have time. I don’t necessarily think about the subject so much. It’s mainly about that location.” - Matt Gunther (Respect Mag Issue 3)

Kony 2012 Screening Causes Riot, Injury and Death →

ugandafilm:

Pece Stadium where the viewing was held and the only entrance/exit made availible

The screening of the Kony 2012 viral video in Gulu was met with disappointment, anger and disapproval leading to riot against the film makers.

“We expected to see Acholi in the video not just the white people, so they really exploited our suffering to make money” said Akello Mariam 54.

Viewers expressed shock that no victims or survivors of the war were interviewed. The short film developed about the Acholi people actually only featured one ugandan and the star of the film was a young american toddler (the son of the producer).

Further More people were appalled by the “Make Kony Famous” idea explaining that is was extremely insensitive. One person compared it to selling Osama Bin Laden memorabilia in New York Post 9/11

Angry viewers started walking out on the film shouting insults at the organizers of the event and then throwing stones at the venue. The police acted quickly shooting tear gas into the crowd. Roughly 8 thousand people in attendance were forced to escaped through a small tunnel (the only exit). Several children were lost and missing for hours. A police officer was wounded and taken to a nearby hospital with many others that were injured. We are still waiting for more information on the fatality.

It’s a Beautiful Day to be Fabulously 20 Years Young

I’m having a private party
Ain’t no body here but me, my angels, and my guitar singin’ baby look how far we’ve come
I’m havin’ a private party
Learning how to love me
Celebrating the woman I’ve become

Happy birthday to me

Happy birthday to me

Happy birthday

But I’m debated, disputed, hated and viewed in America
As a motherfuckin’ drug addict - like you didn’t experiment?

Now now, that’s when you start to stare at who’s in the mirror
And see yourself as a kid again, and you get embarrassed
And I got nothing to do but make you look stupid as parents

You fuckin’ do-gooders, too bad you couldn’t do good at marriage
And do you have any clue what I had to do to get here? I don’t
Think you do, so stay tuned and keep your ears glued to the stereo
